Perth Day 7 (26/11/2014)

We are going to do something different today.  Not going to drive...but taking free CAT buses! For a simple reason, we are going to Hays Street today, which is smacked right in Perth's center, hence looking for parking is going to be difficult and parking fees will be super expensive.  So free buses suits us fine. :)  Took bus 950 from a bus stop which is about 1-2 mins walk from the apartment.

Just a mere 2 bus stops, we arrived at Hays Street!  My first impression of Hays Street is just like our Orchard Road.  Shops everywhere.  But do take a close look, you will find that most shops that sell souvenirs etc..most goods are made in China or Indonesia ! LOL! With a more expensive price tag.  So whenever I wana buy any souvenirs, I try to make sure it is really worth buying.  The Target Shopping mall here is huge.  Many kinds of clothings, shoes etc.  Bought couple of nice stuff here.

Overall, I am not really impressed with Hays Street.  Gives me a sense that it is over commercialize and as a tourist, can't help but feel that there every thing sold there has their price marked up.  Just some personal thoughts though.

Along Hays Street, there is a foodcourt that sells a lot of Asian food..we had brunch here..Prices are reasonable.

As we walked along Hays Street, we passed by London Court.  It is actually just a short lane, with different architecture hence giving shoppers a totally different feel when walking through this lane filled with shops.  Nothing worth buying..

I like David Jones Shopping mall.  It's like our Robinsons, on a much bigger scale.  There are also eateries inside..sushi counter has a super long queue.

Lunch at Hungry Jacks ( aka Burger King).

Finally, catching a bus back to the apartment at around 1.30pm.  Intend to let old folks rest a while before we go back to Northbridge with a mission - to buy seafood and cook for dinner !

It was a rainy day when we set off to Northbridge..

We went to this seafood market (Pic below) to buy our seafood items.  To locate this place, it is easy.  In my last post, I mentioned that we had dinner at Viet Hoa?  Yes, you can park back at the same place as it is easier to get at carpark space.  If you assume you are walking out from Viet Hoa's restaurant, turn left.

Walk straight down, probably 200m -300m, you will some rows of letter box and a car park on your left. This seafood shop / market is located within this car park area. Those shops surrounding the car park.  If you use Viet Hoa as a reference point, you will be able to find this seafood market.

TADA!  Back at our apartment around 6pm...and this is what we have for dinner !  Everybody chipped in to help prepare for dinner.

Abalones!

All of us ended the night with a belly happy tummy! :))
