Perth Day 10 (29/11/2014)

FINAL last day in Perth...also the end of a beautiful holiday..final packing and putting back everything into cabinets, cupboards etc...

As our flight is at 7.10pm, this morning we will be making a trip to Frementle..

Here...end results of almost 9 days shopping.  Every single luggage filled to the fullest !

Oh last minute we bought this from Coles. This is really really nice and refreshing ! Kids were complaining that we discovered this too late..or else they would like to have this everyday !

Filling up before we set off to Frementle..

Lovely day !

Reached Frementle, parked our car and made our way to the Frementle market..which is opened only on weekends.

I kind of like the atmosphere in this market.  It gives that "weekend" feeling.  Nothing is rushed.  All at leisurely pace.  They sell all sorts of things, including vergetables, fruits etc.

This sausage buns...to die for! So good that my kids went for 2nd round...

Just outside of Frementle Market, you can find this foodcourt that sells all Asia food.  It's just like Singapore's foodcourt.  Food does not taste fantastic.  But if you are craving for rice, noodles or Japanese food, you can have your meal here  Standards are not high.  Basically have a meal here to fill your tummy that's all.  If you have more time to spare, take a walk to Cappuccino Street, where there are many many eating joints and coffee houses.

Chicken rice..yaks !

After a quick meal at the foodcourt, we took a walk around..

Ahhh...the cappuccino street that I was talking about..many people choose to have their meals here.

Look at the streets, it's just screaming "WEEKEND!"

Weekend flea market..

Frementle prison ! By this time, the weather suddenly got very warm.  Old folks and kids refused to get down the car and walk. So end up , we just drove around the perimeter and taking some photos from the inside of our car.

Prison wall..

We took a drive to harbour front.  Amazing sight ! Boats bobbling up and down everywhere!

My son is obsessed with chasing seagulls and snappping photos of 'em. Don't ask me why, I have got no answer :(

We then drove to Cicerellos @ Frementle.  It's just less than 1 min's drive.  Once we reach this place, the best thing to do is to have a cuppa, watch the world go by..such relax atmosphere..full of poeple...full of life...yet you feel peace..how to explain those feelings in words? Just 3 words : Hard to describe.

From the carpark, we have to cross this little track to go to Cicerellos..

People queing for the power boat ride.  My kids wanted to, but due to time constraint, gotta dissapoint them...sorry..

This picture is to capture the pricing...focus not on bum...

Just nearby, there is this large park that one can have a nice picnic under the shade.  Maybe can ta-bao fish and chips...a mat...a thermoflask and shades...a book....fruits...perfect way to spend an lazy afternoon !
The car park

At about 2pm, we took a slow drive back to Perth city.  My daughter wanted to eat at Viet Hoa again.

Finally after late lunch, we set off to the airport.  But first, we must fill the petrol tank to the max before returning the car or else we will be charged 3x the amount.

Airport.....

Did not realise they have vending machines.  So if you are arriving on a late night flight, you can buy some food and drinks fro the machine before leaving the airport.

Yay...our flight..

Haiz...only to be told that our flight has been delayed from 7.10pm to 9pm! GRRRRRRRRR!  Apparently even thr ground staff do not know the cause of the delay.  Oh Well....

Walk around the airport to kill time..

For dinner, once you checked in, you don't have much of a choice...there is only 2 food outlets. We chose pizza over sanwiches..

At the airport, if you are taking budget flight, once you passed through checkpoint, you can refill your water bottles here.  There is no holding room like in Singapore.  That means even if you buy a cup of coffee and can't finish, you can bring it up the flight.  I bought a cup of hot coffee, fill up my thermo flask and brought it with me on the flight. heeheee...a small comfort on the 5 hours flight home.  Oh at the airport, there are also "desks" with electric socket.  So, put your hp cables and electrical plug in your bag.  May come in handy if you need to charge your hp, tablets etc.  There is free wifi at the airport too.

That's it folks !  End of our first road trip in Western Australia!
