For Day 2, 3 and 5, I have engaged a guide cum driver, Mr Lai.  Got his contact through...
trip advisor.  We mainly corresponded via emails.  Made a call once to him and found him to be a chit chatty fella who seem to have his customers' interest at heart.  Even though I am engaging for for 3 days guided tour, I made a lot of changes to our itinerary and Mr Lai is ever so patient to help me re-arrange all the places that we wanted to go into a do-able schedule.  How cool is that!  Note : he prefers to email in chinese.

Checked with him...he will be driving us around using Toyota Wish.  Should be comfortable as there are only 5 of us traveling.  His charges are reasonable too and within market rate. NT3500 for 8 hour tour and NT4000 for 12 hour tour.

Keeping fingers crossed that Mr Lai is a wise choice made!

Oh, not to forget, we have also arranged for him to pick us up from the airport when we arrive and also to send us to the airport on our last day.  NT1000 per trip.  Public transport seems easy to and fro airport, but for comfort, NT1000 (approx S$41) is worth it. :))

There are actually 2 more places that I have yet to fit into our journey - Nanmen Day market and Shuiyuan Day market.  Shall try to find time to visit.

Will pay a visit to Taiwan Embassy in Singapore after kids' final term exams as I heard that every quarterly they will have some gifts for travelers going to Taiwan.  Not sure what is in store for November..hmmm I wonder..

That's it for this update!  Upcoming in next update...booking of our accommodation in Taipei.

                                                Stay tuned!
